This paper discusses a combination of atomic and molecular transition frequencies that makes it possible to measure the variance in the proton-to-electron mass ratio β with high sensitivity. We consider the combination of two atomic transition frequencies f(A,B) and one molecular vibrational transition f (mol). When fp=f(A)−f(B)−f (mol) is much lower than f (mol), fp is much more sensitive to the variance in β than f (mol).
