The charge-transfer rate coefficients of Fe3+ with H2 and N2 are measured by using a laser-ablation ion source and a quadrupole radio-frequency ion trap with the mean collision energy of about 5.1 eV. The rate coefficients for Fe3+ with H2 at the equivalent temperature 1.7×103K and Fe3+ with N2 at 1.3×104K are 1.64(0.22)×10-10cm3s-1 and 4.36(0.46)×10-9cm3s-1, respectively. The measured values are of the same order as the Langevin rate coefficient.
