Using a high-efficiency, transmission grating spectrometer at an electron-beam ion trap, the 3s23p63d4 J=2–3 transition in the ground configuration of the Ti-like ions Pt56+, Au57+, and Tl59+ was measured. The measurements achieved up to 20 times better precision than previously reported other high-Z measurements.
