We propose a scheme of a one-atom laser which produces a cavity-field virtually in a stationary Fock state. It is based upon the unexpectedly simple dynamics of the Jaynes-Cummings system at multiphoton resonances at far-off resonance. We find that an anomalously high cavity mode excitation occurs at a particular set of atomic, cavity, and driving-field frequencies.
