It is shown, in the context of a double-slit experiment, that small nonlinearities of the Schrödinger equation, considered recently by Weinberg [Phys. Rev. Lett. 62, 485 (1989)], will in general allow a simultaneous measurement of particle paths and interference, unless the nonlinearities are of a special form such that nearby initial states remain so at all later times.
